Still assigned to the Perkins fire.
It really blew up today and moved through some drainages pretty fast. Flames fueled by afternoon winds and brush were burning away from the town of New Cuyama about 45 miles east of Santa Maria. Fire is about 20 percent contained.
The crew has come off the line tonight for some food and rest. Tomorrow it sounds like we'll be flown out by helo. Did a lot of hiking today and cut some good line.
