The weather has cooled down and so has the fires. The last fire for the crew was on the week of September 12th. The Lyon Fire located locally on Lyons Valley Road and Skyline. The fire was wind driven and had a one day burning period for 263 acres. The crew spent the rest of the week mopping up.
While things are quite, the crew is taking advantage and doing some training and working on local fuels projects.
We have also been contacted by NBC for interviews. So far a team came down and interviewed Superintendent Jim Huston and his wife Patricia on the life of being a Hotshot and a Hotshots wife. there are plans for Ann Curry (NBC Nightly news Anchor) to come down to interview the crew as well as Jim and his wife in the coming weeks.
