The crew was assigned to a new fire in Yosemite. It was a fire use that was thought to be under control a month ago. It is called the Middle "T".
The Middle T Fire is located 3 miles east of Aspen Valley on the north side of the Middle Fork of the Tuolumne River and near the historic Great Sierra Wagon Road (between White Wolf and Aspen Valley). This fire was being managed as a wildland fire use fire for resource benefit. Confinement actions utilizing existing trails, natural barriers and minimal, low impact fire line construction were implemented to limit fire growth. Fire managers monitored its behavior and when it grew past its checklines, it was converted to a suppression fire to limit smoke production. The crew will be spiked out on this assignmwent. The Middle T is 591 acres and is 90% contained.
