The crew has been busy even though it's been a typically slow start for the season. The crew has been busy working on fuels reduction projects on the district.
We also finished training our final new recruit Greg Szalay. Greg used to work on the Los Padres National Forest. He worked on the LP Crew 7 Type 2 crew and then on the Arroyo Grande Hotshots (Helishots back then). He took a few years off to work with the Peace Corps.
We have responded to some small starts on our most northern part of the forest. These starts appear to be related to possible drug plantation wars, an ever growing problem in the U.S. on our National Forests.
