Today the crew broke into 4 squads. The first squad put in direct handline near the fire's edge. The second squad snagged hazard trees near the fire's edge. The third & fourth squads hiked around from where the others were. They were gridding (looking) for any spot fires.
Squad Leader Jamie Miller was gridding for spot fires in the green on an ATV, ahead of the crew.
A short squad cutting line and mopping up a spot fire found 1/4 mile from the main fire.

These people are undoubtedly Modern day heroes in any way. We all should give more credit to those who fled to emergency situations even from a far, like those international air ambulance services that we see often.
