Update

The crew has been spiked out on the Angeles Crest at the Chilao Station (Old Chilao Hotshot Camp). The plan was to protect the station. This morning the fire activity got to the point that it was decided by the fire management team, based on safety and what occurred yesterday (2 fatalities and the loss of Mill Creek Fire Station) to pull all resources from the area as the fire started to surround Chilao. The Chilao engine crew stayed to protect their station and the compound was in good shape due to years of good hazard reduction. Currently the fire is 105,000+ acres (The Angeles N.F. is 600,00)
